Cut Crease

I have been meaning to try out the cut crease look for quite some time now and this is what I came up with.  Hopefully it looks somewhat decent and wearable.
*I wrapped a scarf around my head since my hair was a complete mess.

Face: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (light), Makeup forever Mat Velvet + Mattifying foundation in No. 40 (blended with a damp beauty blender), Amazing Cosmetics Concealer in Medium beige-light (finger tips to blend then the beauty blender), Milani's HD Advanced Concealer in Light to highlight under the eyes and middle of face (finger tips to blend and then the beauty blender).  Milani's HD Advanced Concealer is supposedly a dupe for YSL's infamous Touche Eclat! Everything was set with Lancome's Dual Finish powder in Matte Bisque II using a flat stiff brush.

Contour and Blush:
NYC's Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder for contouring cheekbones, nose and jaw, Bella Bamba by Benefit on the cheeks for a blush

Eyes:
Urban Decay's Primer Potion to primer the lids, UD's eyeshadow in Maui Wowie all over the lid and UD's black eye pencil in perversion in the waterline and tight line.  I drew a line extending from my eyeliner into my crease with the UD black eye pencil and then smudged the crease lightly with a black eyeshadow to create a "cut" crease.  UD's eyeshadow called Flipside in the crease, on top of the black and also under the eyes.  I used a gel liner to create a more precise eyeliner "line".  I used a matte peachy eyeshadow on the brow bone called Freestyle by UD.

Lips: Lined and filled in lips with a lip pencil by Mac called Hip n Happy then applied Mac's Lip glass in St. Germain on top

How do you do your "cut crease"?

Outfit of the Day!

I bought this Zara dress on sale three weeks ago on a whim and was inspired to do a military type look, like that from Victoria Beckham's fall 2012 collection.  I kept the accessories to a minimum and added a belt to cinch in my waist.  The dress is surprisingly pretty warm since it is some percent wool and for 20 bucks it was a bargain in my opinion.

Dress: Zara (sale)
Leggings: Zara (old)
Boots: Kelly and Katie from DSW
Bag: ASOS
Bracelet: Bar III from Macys (old)

Have a great weekend!

Mini Beauty Haul

Earrings by I.N.C, Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear foundation in Bisque 6w, Lancome Nail polish in Gris Angora and a free body scrub from Lancome.
I have been wanting a new everyday type foundation for quite some time now and I have finally caved in and bought one over the past weekend.  My mom wanted the free gift by Lancome that you receive after a $35 or more purchase, so I  also bought a nail polish.  The salesgirl told me that she personally loves the foundation since it lasts all day without the need for a touch-up and since I have super oily skin, the oil-free component is an added bonus.  It is supposed to last 18 hours without oiling up your skin.  The price is not terribly bad either for a Lancome foundation; it's $34.  I will have to try it out and post a review later.

The nail polish caught my eye since it's a gorgeous lilacy/gray color, perfect for spring time!  I think I am longing for spring to come already. Emma Watson was reported raving about this nail polish as one of her favs!
On the topic of spring and lilac, those earrings also attracted me and I couldn't resist, hehe.

What are your recent purchases?

Soft Red Lips Look

I have recently purchased a Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple and my search for the perfect red shaded lipstick is over! I have always had trouble trying to pull of a bold red lipstick and I was never able to find that "perfect" shade for my skin tone.  Revlon's Candy Apple is a perfect shade of bright red with a slight warm undertone, which makes the lipstick a bit orange/red.  It applies sheer and you can build up the intensity of the shade, but my camera wasn't picking up the pigmentation of it.
I decided to do a mostly drugstore makeup look centered around this lipstick.

Face: Garnier's BB Cream in Fair/Medium mixed with Estee Lauder's Nutritious Vita Mineral foundation in Intensity 2.0, Mabelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Fair, Physician's Formula Healthy Wear in Translucent Medium (to set the foundation) and Milani's Blush in Rose D'oro (gives you a gorgeous glow)

Eyes: Physician Formula's gel liner and Mabelline's Falsies Volume Express Mascara (not photographed)
I primed my lids with urban decay's primer potion and applied Buck eyeshadow from the Naked palette into my crease, but I completely forgot to include these products in the last picture.

I love this 50's pin-up look using mostly affordable products.

What is your favorite red lipstick?

Enchanted Garden

I have selected a few makeup products that I have been liking lately and I think they would be perfect for the up coming spring.

MAC's lip glass in Saint Germain.  This is definitely a perfect spring time lip gloss.  It has a thick consistency, doesn't wear off easily and is a pink almost lilac color.  It also has some blue reflects, so if you are looking for a pink that makes your teeth appear whiter then this one is it!
MAC's lip pencil in Hip 'N' Happy.  A  soft pink/mauve pencil.  I saw a makeup artist at a MAC counter at Macy's use this pencil on a client, paired with the Saint Germain lip glass on top, and it looked absolutely gorgeous on the lady.  I decided to purchase both the pencil and the lip gloss! #impulsebuy
Lancome's lip gloss in the color Paradise Peach.  This is a lovely nude- peach lip gloss.  I usually pair it up with a peachy lipstick or on top of a more nude lipstick.
Mabelline's Falsies volume express mascara.  I decided to give this much hyped mascara a try and it really does live up to it's popular reputation!  The curved shape of the brush really helps to get the mascara in between each lash, while thickening and lengthening your lashes.  I would highly recommend this as a cheaper alternative to the more higher end brands.
Benefit's Bella Bamba.  This is a gorgeous pink blush with gold shimmer; perfect for spring time!.  I received this as gift sample from Sephora and decided to give it a try.  I have to say, it is a beautiful blush with a soft, almost creamy, texture and it smells lovely as well.  It gives you a subtle healthy glow without the need of a highlighter (one less step for my makeup routine!).
Lancome's Hypnose Doll Lashes Effect Mascara. I absolutely love this mascara for a night time look.  It really does give you that "doll" lashes effect.
What are your picks for the up coming spring?
