Spring Colorful Eyes

Sorry I have been so MIA lately.  Just got busy with a few things over the last couple of weeks.  I hope everyone's having a great Spring so far!
I got inspired by the neon trend and decided to do a simple yet fun eye makeup look.  Since this was a day look, I kept everything to a minimum, i.e., eyeliner.  I am not sure why my eyelashes look like they are so short! I love putting on a lot of mascara and I am sure I did for this look.  Ahh camera, why did you not pick up on my eyelashes?!

Face: Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear + Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer, Mabelline Age Rewind Concealer, Lancome Dual Finish Powder (to set concealer and take away T-zone shine), NYC Bronzer, NYX blush called Pinched (a dupe for Nars Orgasm blush)

Eyes: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original, Shameless Shana eye shadow in the crease from Shady Lady by the balm (it's a warm bronze kind of brown), Lime Green shimmery eye shadow on the lid by Beauty Treats (any lime green or bright neon type yellow green would do). Black Gel liner on the outer corners only by Studio Gear, Urban Decay 24/7 black pencil called Perversion for tight lining, Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Electric for water line and Mabelline Falsies Volume express Mascara on top and bottom lashes

Lips: Mac lip pencil in hip n happy and Mac lip glass in St. Germain (for a fun pink pop)

What is your favorite Spring makeup look?

Shabby Chic Bedroom in Progress

Here is my Shabby Chic bedroom in progress.  I am completely in love with the shabby chic style and how it adds a vintage romantic touch; instantly changing the mood of your bedroom.  I think my love for this style of decor has been heavily influenced by my love for British Period dramas.  Some of my favorites include Downton Abbey, Sense and Sensibility, North and South and many others.
I was actually going for a French countryside cottage look, since my other love is all things French! I am not sure if I succeeded at this attempt.
Of course since this is a work in progress, I will be adding newly found treasures slowly.  I also have a few DIY projects that I have done with random material lying around the house, which I will share in a future post.
I have to say that finding a shabby chic/romantic style bedding (under 100) was a challenge!

What is your favorite decorating style?

Outfit of the Day and Accessories of the Day

Here I am again wearing my favorite leather leggings.  I decided to pair it with a silk blouse for a contrast of edgy and soft.  I should probably buy a base (shaper?) for my LV bag now that I look at the pictures.  Excuse my dry looking hair! The weather has been very dry lately and when I say it's dry then it's pretty dry out since I have super oily skin.  I have been uncomfortable all week long with itchy and dry skin.
Anyways, lately I have been into rings a lot.  I found this red stoned ring at Forever21 (last picture) and quickly purchased it to add to my small rings collection.  My dream rings are the YSL arty rings though! They are so edgy and intriguing.  Definitely on my wish list.

Leather pants: Zara
Cardigan: Macys
Blouse: Banana Republic
Booties: Aldo
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Rings: Aldo and Macys
Bracelet: Chanel and Bar III

Outfit of the Day

I thought I would get on board with the neon and black & white trend, which I have been seeing in a few places lately.  So I decided to pair an old neon yellow cardigan with a striped top and my favorite pleated skirt.  I am completely in love with maxi skirts!  I am on the hunt for a few colorful maxi skirts for the summer (where is spring?).

Skirt- Zara
Cardigan- old, but you can find similar colors anywhere now
Leather Jacket- Forever21
Bag- Marc Jacobs
Ring- Forever21

Old Hollywood Glam

I attempted an Old Hollywood Glam look (with my own twist) for this party that I attended yesterday.  Pictures of the makeup were a bit hard to take at night, since the glitter on my eyes was not being captured properly by my camera without natural light. Hopefully the makeup pictures are not too shabby.

The last three pictures are of a few things that I wore that night.  The peep toe booties are my favorite glitzy heels! The clutch has intricate bead work, which didn't come out as beautifully in the picture.  Beaded clutches have been in style lately!

The nail polish is Nicole by O.P.I called Strike a Pose.  This nail color is definitely one of the hottest season trends! The orange lipstick is also a hot season trend as seen in New York Fashion Week.

Glitter on lids: Lorac 3D luster (gorgeous in person)
Lips: Revlon Siren (love this orange lipstick)

Have a great weekend!

A Simple Smokey Eye Makeup

This was my take on a Mila Kunis inspired smokey eye as requested by my cousin.

Face: Lancome Teint Idole Foundation, Amazing Cosmetics Concealer, Mabelline Age Rewind Concealer to highight under the eye, Lancome Dual Finish Powder to set the foundation and concealer
Eyes: Urban Decay Primer Potion, then lined water line and tight line with Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in black (called perversion) and smudged it above and below the eye as well, Buck eyeshadow on the crease from the Urban Decay Naked Palette, Lancome's Mannequin eyeshadow in the outer corner, Estee Lauder's Tea Biscuit all over the lid, Lancome's The New Black eyeshadow (slightly glittery) smudged on top of the smudged eye liner on the lid and lastly Urban Decay's Freestyle on the browbone
Mabelline's Falsies Mascara

Take care my lovelies.

Outfit of the Day!

I went to the mall yesterday and here are a few snapshots I took of myself in a dressing room since I had no other time to take pictures of my outfit. I don't know what it was, but yesterday the mall seemed way too crowded then it usually does on a Saturday. Anyways, I wore my favorite leather (faux) leggings with this fur collared coat that has been sitting in my closet for a year and a half now.

Coat: Bar III, Macys
Shirt: Zara
Leggings: Zara
Flats: River island
Gold Glitter Belt: Aldo
Bracelet: Chanel

Have a Great Day!

Short Trip to Canada

Strawberry and banana smoothie with yogurt. My addiction while I was in Toronto.
Me with an embarrassing usb cable hanging out of my camera.

Last weekend my parents planned a trip to Canada on a whim and I decided to tag along.  The drive there was pretty boring (note to self: bring your ipod next time!) and for some bizarre reason I was not even sleepy like I usually am on road trips.  The trip was quite nice except for the fact that this one restaurant that I really wanted to go to had shut down!! Yes! ugh!
Anyways, I forgot how friendly everyone is in Canada.  That is probably one of the things I miss most about Canada (yes, I lived in Canada long time ago).  It was a nice change from being on Long Island for once.  I also ended up finding pretty good deals on some beauty products in Shoppers Drug Mart there (kind of like cvs here).

Have a Lovely Day.

Cut Crease

I have been meaning to try out the cut crease look for quite some time now and this is what I came up with.  Hopefully it looks somewhat decent and wearable.
*I wrapped a scarf around my head since my hair was a complete mess.

Face: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (light), Makeup forever Mat Velvet + Mattifying foundation in No. 40 (blended with a damp beauty blender), Amazing Cosmetics Concealer in Medium beige-light (finger tips to blend then the beauty blender), Milani's HD Advanced Concealer in Light to highlight under the eyes and middle of face (finger tips to blend and then the beauty blender).  Milani's HD Advanced Concealer is supposedly a dupe for YSL's infamous Touche Eclat! Everything was set with Lancome's Dual Finish powder in Matte Bisque II using a flat stiff brush.

Contour and Blush:
NYC's Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder for contouring cheekbones, nose and jaw, Bella Bamba by Benefit on the cheeks for a blush

Eyes:
Urban Decay's Primer Potion to primer the lids, UD's eyeshadow in Maui Wowie all over the lid and UD's black eye pencil in perversion in the waterline and tight line.  I drew a line extending from my eyeliner into my crease with the UD black eye pencil and then smudged the crease lightly with a black eyeshadow to create a "cut" crease.  UD's eyeshadow called Flipside in the crease, on top of the black and also under the eyes.  I used a gel liner to create a more precise eyeliner "line".  I used a matte peachy eyeshadow on the brow bone called Freestyle by UD.

Lips: Lined and filled in lips with a lip pencil by Mac called Hip n Happy then applied Mac's Lip glass in St. Germain on top

How do you do your "cut crease"?

Outfit of the Day!

I bought this Zara dress on sale three weeks ago on a whim and was inspired to do a military type look, like that from Victoria Beckham's fall 2012 collection.  I kept the accessories to a minimum and added a belt to cinch in my waist.  The dress is surprisingly pretty warm since it is some percent wool and for 20 bucks it was a bargain in my opinion.

Dress: Zara (sale)
Leggings: Zara (old)
Boots: Kelly and Katie from DSW
Bag: ASOS
Bracelet: Bar III from Macys (old)

Have a great weekend!

Mini Beauty Haul

Earrings by I.N.C, Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear foundation in Bisque 6w, Lancome Nail polish in Gris Angora and a free body scrub from Lancome.
I have been wanting a new everyday type foundation for quite some time now and I have finally caved in and bought one over the past weekend.  My mom wanted the free gift by Lancome that you receive after a $35 or more purchase, so I  also bought a nail polish.  The salesgirl told me that she personally loves the foundation since it lasts all day without the need for a touch-up and since I have super oily skin, the oil-free component is an added bonus.  It is supposed to last 18 hours without oiling up your skin.  The price is not terribly bad either for a Lancome foundation; it's $34.  I will have to try it out and post a review later.

The nail polish caught my eye since it's a gorgeous lilacy/gray color, perfect for spring time!  I think I am longing for spring to come already. Emma Watson was reported raving about this nail polish as one of her favs!
On the topic of spring and lilac, those earrings also attracted me and I couldn't resist, hehe.

What are your recent purchases?

Soft Red Lips Look

I have recently purchased a Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple and my search for the perfect red shaded lipstick is over! I have always had trouble trying to pull of a bold red lipstick and I was never able to find that "perfect" shade for my skin tone.  Revlon's Candy Apple is a perfect shade of bright red with a slight warm undertone, which makes the lipstick a bit orange/red.  It applies sheer and you can build up the intensity of the shade, but my camera wasn't picking up the pigmentation of it.
I decided to do a mostly drugstore makeup look centered around this lipstick.

Face: Garnier's BB Cream in Fair/Medium mixed with Estee Lauder's Nutritious Vita Mineral foundation in Intensity 2.0, Mabelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Fair, Physician's Formula Healthy Wear in Translucent Medium (to set the foundation) and Milani's Blush in Rose D'oro (gives you a gorgeous glow)

Eyes: Physician Formula's gel liner and Mabelline's Falsies Volume Express Mascara (not photographed)
I primed my lids with urban decay's primer potion and applied Buck eyeshadow from the Naked palette into my crease, but I completely forgot to include these products in the last picture.

I love this 50's pin-up look using mostly affordable products.

What is your favorite red lipstick?

Enchanted Garden

I have selected a few makeup products that I have been liking lately and I think they would be perfect for the up coming spring.

MAC's lip glass in Saint Germain.  This is definitely a perfect spring time lip gloss.  It has a thick consistency, doesn't wear off easily and is a pink almost lilac color.  It also has some blue reflects, so if you are looking for a pink that makes your teeth appear whiter then this one is it!
MAC's lip pencil in Hip 'N' Happy.  A  soft pink/mauve pencil.  I saw a makeup artist at a MAC counter at Macy's use this pencil on a client, paired with the Saint Germain lip glass on top, and it looked absolutely gorgeous on the lady.  I decided to purchase both the pencil and the lip gloss! #impulsebuy
Lancome's lip gloss in the color Paradise Peach.  This is a lovely nude- peach lip gloss.  I usually pair it up with a peachy lipstick or on top of a more nude lipstick.
Mabelline's Falsies volume express mascara.  I decided to give this much hyped mascara a try and it really does live up to it's popular reputation!  The curved shape of the brush really helps to get the mascara in between each lash, while thickening and lengthening your lashes.  I would highly recommend this as a cheaper alternative to the more higher end brands.
Benefit's Bella Bamba.  This is a gorgeous pink blush with gold shimmer; perfect for spring time!.  I received this as gift sample from Sephora and decided to give it a try.  I have to say, it is a beautiful blush with a soft, almost creamy, texture and it smells lovely as well.  It gives you a subtle healthy glow without the need of a highlighter (one less step for my makeup routine!).
Lancome's Hypnose Doll Lashes Effect Mascara. I absolutely love this mascara for a night time look.  It really does give you that "doll" lashes effect.
What are your picks for the up coming spring?
